Emmy-award winning journalist Nicole Sanchez has worked in television for more than two decades. She is an expert storyteller, especially when it comes to corporate and fundraising videos. Clients appreciate her ability to connect with them and guide them through the storytelling process to bring their message to life through video.

She has produced more then 100 short documentaries across the country and in Canada through her work with London-based WebsEdge, totaling more than two million dollars worth of projects. She has also anchored for WebsEdge at conferences on a wide range of topics including health, science, government, and education. Some of the projects she has managed for them include documentaries for the FDA, Boston Children’s Hospital, the Pacific Disaster Center in Maui and several National Labs.

Nicole is the Host of “Shine a Light” for Idaho News 6 which is a monthly segment spotlighting people and businesses making a difference in the community. She also is responsible for all of the script writing.

Nicole hosts and produces documentaries for Idaho Public Television. She has produced several resilience themed programs for the station including Raising Resilient Kids: Mental Health Matters which is a helpful talk show on how to talk with young people about mental health. This program received an Emmy nomination, a Platinum award at the Houston International Film Festival and it also received a 2nd place award at the Idaho Press Club.

Nicole was also honored to be the Co-Producer/Writer/Narrator for an hour long documentary called Resilient Idaho: Hope Lives Here. This video explores Adverse Childhood Experiences and the lifelong trauma that can result if ACEs are untreated or unresolved. This powerful story focuses heavily on resilience and was produced through her work with Idaho Public Television. The documentary was re-branded for national distribution under the name Resilience: Hope Lives Here and was made available to all PBS stations. This documentary received a regional Edward R. Murrow Award, a regional Emmy nomination, an Idaho Press Club Award, a Pinwheel Award, and placed at the Platinum level in the Health and Wellness category at the WorldFest Houston International Film Festival. Nicole also produced and hosted a second resilience themed program for the station called Raising Resilient Kids: Mental Health Matters. In addition to the special, she produced several other short videos focused on increasing awareness about mental health.

Nicole also works as a Host/Producer for CityStream on the Seattle Channel. She has received a dozen awards and nominations during her 12+ years with the newsmagazine style show.

Nicole spent the first part of her career reporting and anchoring in newsrooms like Q13 FOX News, KOMO ABC 4 and KIMA-TV in Yakima. She also worked for the Outdoor Channel and was part of television special on an international fishing competition in Maui.

Nicole is honored to serve as a National Trustee for the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. She was the President of the chapter from 2019-2023 and has been on the Diversity Committee since 2020. She headed up a special volunteer project and produced a special series called Trailblazers in Diversity for the 2023 Regional Emmy® Awards Show which highlighted television professionals who faced and overcame obstacles from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Alaska. Nicole also organized the first NATAS NW Storyteller Workshop in the fall of 2023 at Boise State University, which featured more than 30 speakers from across the NW who taught a dozen workshops.

Nicole graduated with honors with a degree in Communications and a minor in Political Science from Washington State University. She has taught workshops at the Murrow Symposium including the On-Air Talent and News Writing Workshops.

Nicole is a people-person and has a can-do attitude.  She has a large network of veteran TV photographers and editors she works with across the country who share her passion for telling meaningful stories.
